OPEN CALLS

There are many ways to be part of our program. 4bid is a gallery, however we prefer to not to get too precious about its definition. A 4bid-den gallery, where interlinking passion and learning processes lead to constructive and professional artistic experiences.

You can participate to our projects by sending us your proposals according to the following OPEN CALLS, mentioning which one is of your interest: 

• • B.base – A body based space is a 3-day expo, with events layering up each day going from visual art, performance, screenings to discussions.
  • Highs&Lows – Evening of performances, exploring choreography, performance  and live art of the local and international scene.
  • 4biddays – Open Gallery, to celebrate our idea of experimenting, stimulating feedback and constructive critique – for WiP.
  • 4bid Study Time Artist Residency (no accommodation) – To use a gallery space while getting the chance to evolve or finalise a research in progress.
  • Shuffle project – shared practices – A project based on open sessions and classes organised by professional or emerging artists.
  • 4S4S Multichannel Surround Sound – If you are an artist working with sound, think of what might you do with a 12 channel surround system
  • GRAPHICALL (call closed) – International printmaking festival – juried exhibition devoted to printmaking and bookbinding.
  • Workshops – we’re happy to hear from you and support collaborations!

We are open to collaborations with artists and curators. 4bid is an ever-changing project and everyone can be part of this process.

When applying keep in mind that 4bid is not a conventional gallery: no representing, no percentages, no commercial, no capital, no meritocracy.

We support artists in bringing the projects we believe in to life as well as developing relations between each another, the audiences and ourselves, to generate temporary artistic communities.

All members of 4bid work on voluntary basis and are committed to make the work happen in the best way possible, with the means they have.

NB:
4bid is unfunded on principle, self-sustained and self-organized by the people that are part of it at each moment in time. We organise our structure fluidly and based of the needs of the moment, with a  professional and human attitude.

FOR ARTISTS SENDING A PROPOSAL: read

if your proposal goes under the umbrella of one of our programs above (joining at the 4S4S, Highs & Lows of B.base for example), then 4bid does not charge the artists any participation fee. You receive as compensation all ticket entrance income – or divided in equal part with others, when more artists partake in the program.

For events organised by external programmers or curators (not part of our programs), 4bid works differently and that means that they cover our costs -space rent, volunteer compensation, license expenses- and take care of publicity, making sure to share it with us so we can circulate it and support the projects. We operate as a ‘host’.
